PUTTING PEOPLES’ QUALITY OF LIFE AT THE FOREFRONT OF EVERYTHING WE DO

Methodist Homes for the Aged Guernsey run two not-for-profit homes with varying needs of care, based on the same site in the heart of the island at L’Aumone in the Castel parish. Maison L’Aumone is a residential home offering an easier way of life for people who still have their independence. Maison de Quetteville offers nursing care in the Cobo Suite and residential care in the L’Ancresse and Bordeaux suites for people living with dementia.

About our homes

  • Maison L’Aumone and Maison de Quetteville care homes were established to offer the best care possible to its residents, within a caring and loving environment, by professional staff.
  • MHA (Methodist Homes for the Aged) in Guernsey is financially independent of Methodist Homes in the UK and is registered as a charity. Its directors work on an entirely voluntary basis to support the excellent professional team of staff.
  • All income is used to fund the ongoing running of the home and improve its care facilities.
  • Both Maison L’Aumone and Maison de Quetteville are open to Guernsey residents of any faith or none. There is no requirement to attend a church or profess any faith to enter into our care.
  • Opportunities are provided for Christian worship and a resident’s
spiritual journey is encouraged and supported. However it is entirely the resident’s choice to participate. We have a Chaplain covering both homes to offer support to residents, their families and staff.
  • Maison de Quetteville is run by a Registered nurse. Maison L’Aumone does not have an RN but has access to the RN in Maison de Quetteville.

Whatever their physical, emotional or spiritual needs, residents are cared for in a friendly, sensitive way. Each resident is an individual, respected and valued, offered dignity and choice at all times.

We’re proud of our gardens

Both of our homes are set in spacious grounds which offer people a safe place to explore their outside environment. Our gardens not only give residents a chance to enjoy fresh air and outdoor activities, they can offer a sense of responsibility and independence which people might miss when moving out of their own homes.
